The Old Gits In Person
Not for younger listeners or those of a nervous disposition.
Here are the faces behind the voices.
John has been doing radio stuff since he was 18, starting with Hospital radio in Bristol before joining Bristol’s first commercial station, Radio West. From there he broadcasted on GWR, Classic Gold, the Eagle, Star Radio and BBC Radio in the West. John has presented all genres of music as well as speech formats from phone-ins to sport. He is also a live event commentator where his dulcet tones are heard at the Bristol Harbour Festival, The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta and other major events across the country. He also likes to put a dress on each year to appear in pantomime!
David, started his radio career, when the BBC launched Radio Bristol, he was one of the first 'Disc Jockeys' (as opposed to radio presenters). Before working as a current affairs producer !!! (Yes that did happen). He has also worked for GWR, Classic Gold, WFM, Star Radio and Pulse Radio. Like John he also worked for Hospital Radio in Bristol as well as Radio Lollipop where he was programme controller for the station which was broadcast purely to and by the patients at Bristol Childrens Hospital.
Chris started broadcasting on Hospital Radio in Bristol before getting his first job in commercial radio on Radio West. He went on to work for GWR, Classic Gold and Orchard FM. In 1999 he was part of the launch team for WFM in Weston Super Mare, in 2003 he moved on to launch Ivel FM in Yeovil in 2004 and then Original 106 (now SamFM) in Bristol in 2007.
Crids likes cooking, needlework, crocheting and telling complete porkies.
If qualifications to be an old git were required he would have a distinction in all of them.
